Blog Candy Winner for 16 Years!
I had several extra people want to leave a comment on my blog but had difficulties doing so. I think you need a google account to do so (gmail etc) I so appreciate everyone’s effort and sweet sweet sentiments. I said I would share those who commented here before I announce the winner… so here were a few more of the comments:
Cynthia Says: My comment is: I’m not exactly sure what year it was but I’ve enjoyed stamping with you for quite some time😊. Mary S. was the one that first got me interested & when Karen K. had a party I finagled an invitation & have been hooked ever since!! Thank you for your patience with me & for mostly laughing at my smart alec comments!
Happy Anniversary & looking forward to many more fun stamping classes!!
Karen K says: .think we go back at least 10 years and I still have the first card we made…a 2step rose bud card. I fell in love with Stampin Up and you as a demonstrator on that day and now count you as one of my dear friends! I have a fully stocked craft room with not enough time to play….the rest is wonderful history filled with good times and great memories! Congrats on your 16 and here’s to at least another 16!
Ruth O says: I first met Marette 5 years ago at our local library where she was demonstrating card making with Stampin’ Up product. We made the “Cherry on Top” quilt card with the Sizzix Top Note die , I fell in love with card making and the rest is history. Over the years, Marette has presented countless clever and unique designs and techniques for us to hand craft paper product and I’ve loved every one of them! Last year, Marette moved over 150 miles away when her husband was transferred with his job. At first, we all had acute withdrawal from our demonstrator and her projects. I then searched for a new demonstrator in my area and have enjoyed their classes but they don’t compare to the wonderful beauty and uniqueness of Marette’s.
Then, this spring Marette was able to continue her classes with us because she still works for the same company and now returns a couple of days a month for her job and includes an evening class while here.
I love Marette for the beauty and sunshine she has taught me to create during some of my “quiet” days of retirement. Marette has spread her wings in her new location with classes at the library and with her new friends and so she continues to share and teach creativity and spreads joy and happiness wherever she goes.
Marette, thank you, from the heart.
Now for the winner…

Word Art Wednesday #202
Once again, I am joining the challenge this week. I decided to use a verse WAW offered earlier, which really spoke to my heart more than this week’s verse. I am so thankful for many things. This week in particular, it is for 16 years with Stampin’ UP! (see earlier post below) and the fact that Dan had 5 job interviews this week. Those are two great things!
Here is this week’s card:
I really indulged myself this by using a Whimsy Stamp image Winter Fairy and coloring with my copics. While I remain loyal to Stampin’ UP! and its quality products, I just love the little girl images from Whimsy Stamps. Such a shame the camera can’t pick up the Wink of Stella on her white fur. I may have gotten a little carried away with the Stampin’ UP! White Signo Gel Pen dotting….
The Snowflake Iced Rhinestone Embellishment I used was offered from a few years back from Stampin’ Up! but still remains my favorite. I just love bling!
Hope you enjoyed it!
One more WAW#200
I just had to make one more design with this verse. I think this is my second choice between the two. Maybe because I always gravitate toward flowers…the previous one with the arrows were more out of the box for me.
Here is the verse again:
Which do style did you like better?
I am enjoying playing the Word Art Wednesday Challenge and have another submission! I am trying some new photography…I am sure I will improve it. 🙂
It is fun to just play in my stamp room and use my various toys 🙂
Here is this week’s verse:
I am enjoying reading scriptures that are a little lesser known. Hope you all have a wonderful week. I am off to Indianapolis so I don’t think I will be able to post again this week.
Word Art Wednesday
I came across a blog tonight that was new to me. It is called www.wordartwednesday.blogspot.com
I really enjoyed getting the free scripture download and found many of them to be uplifting. I decided to play along with the scripture word art for this week.
Here is my creation:
It was getting late by the time I figured out how to print the verse so I ended up using some “bits” I found on my desk from another project. It came together quite easily. I encourage you to use your “extra bits” the next time you are in a pinch!
Most of the items are retired from Stampin’ UP!. I used Crushed Curry, Island Indigo and Whisper White to really make it pop. The beautiful frame is from Spellbinders. I loved the way it turned out. I am hoping this card is one the recipient will enjoy displaying!
Recently I was asked to make some tea party place cards for a very special five year old. Of course I said yes! Who doesn’t love a tea party? Especially when you are turning 5!
Here are some pics of Sofia’s place cards.
I used the Stampin’ UP Bow Builder Punch to make the adorable bows. Of course I had to use some bling from contra-band stash- I love pink you know!
There were a few boys invited to the tea party so I changed theirs up with a little Marina Mist card stock.
And here is a pic of the beautiful siblings. Sofia, Max and little Joey. Aren’t they picture perfect! If I had children this cute, there wouldn’t be so many pictures of cats on my camera 🙂
P.S. Just to clarify, I don’t have any children, cute or otherwise.
